A walk to the allotment

Yesterday the nursery children and their teachers and some parents walked to the school allotment. They had a wonderful time looking at all the different vegetables that were growing and digging in the soil for worms!

Look at the photos below and see if you can recognise and name the different vegetables that we saw.

Mini Beasts.

We have been thinking about mini beasts in our lessons and Learning Agreement time. We have been on a mini beast hunt in the quad and used a tally sheet to record our findings, we have made models using playdough, painted pictures and used magnifying glasses outside to help us look closely at what we have found.

Look at the pictures below to see how busy we have been.

The children have learnt lots of new words, remember to use them at home when looking at mini beasts in your garden – snail, ant, ladybird, butterfly, caterpillar, beetle, slug and wasp.
